HOT Weekend

This past week has been over 100 degrees every day. SOOO HOT! Since it was sweltering on Saturday, Josh, my brother Mike, and I decided to find something fun to do indoors. We decided to go check out the new Titanic exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum. It was amazing! Upon entering the exhibit, you get handed a "ticket" with the name and short bio of one of the passengers that was on the Titanic. I was assigned Mrs. James Warburton Martinez Cardeza (Charlotte Wardle Drake), she was a 1st class passenger who happened to have been in the best, most expensive suit on the ship. She and her son were traveling back to Germantown, Pennsylvania after a safari in Africa and a visit to their hunting reserve in Hungary. The exhibit was truly eye opening, they had all kinds of artifacts that had been brought up from the wreck as well as re-created first class hallways and rooms. At the end of the exhibit they have a list of all of the survivors and those that died from each class, so you can look up your assigned passenger. I was relieved to see that Charlotte survived. Josh was not so lucky, he was a 3rd class/steerage passenger who did not make it. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any photos inside the exhibit, but we were able to get a photo on the re-created main staircase. It was my Rose and Jack moment and I loved it!  After the exhibit, we decided to walk around the museum and got to see some fun, historical things. Mike loved the trains, I was into the carriages and cars.

This weekend was a great time! I got a nice night in with Josh, takeout, and a DVD, an interesting trip to the Henry Ford Museum, a nice afternoon at the pool, and a fun filled family dinner.

Take out salads from Mudgies, YUM!

Looking forward to next weekend already! Happy Monday!
